Privacy Settings: The Blackout Tool
Your privacy is a top priority! ChartLense includes a powerful "Blackout Tool" that gives you full control over what information is included in a screenshot before it is sent for analysis. This is perfect for hiding sensitive information like account balances, trade history, or personal identifiers.
How to Use the Blackout Tool
-
Open Privacy Settings In the extension header, click the ⚙️ Privacy button. This will open the Privacy Settings modal.
-
Edit Privacy Areas Click the "Edit" button inside the modal. This will open the Blackout Tool, which displays the screenshot that will be analyzed.
-
Draw Blackout Rectangles Click and drag your mouse over any area of the screenshot you wish to hide. A red rectangle will be drawn over the selected area. You can draw as many rectangles as you need.
All areas covered by red rectangles will be permanently blacked out before the image is sent for analysis.
-
Save and Close Once you have marked all sensitive areas, simply close the modal. Your blackout areas are saved automatically.
Managing Your Blackout Areas
- Visual Indicator: When you have active blackout areas, a small green badge will appear on the ⚙️ Privacy button, showing the number of areas you have defined.
- Clearing Areas: You can remove all defined blackout areas at once by clicking the "Clear" button in the Blackout Tool.
By using the Blackout Tool, you can be confident that you are only sharing the chart data you want to be analyzed.
